Refreshing Low-Calorie Mojito Protein Shake – The Perfect Recipe for Cutting and Summer

Looking for a healthy, light, and nourishing version of the famous summer cocktail? A mojito protein shake is exactly the solution. Using neutral (flavorless) protein powder lets the tangy lime and refreshing mint flavors shine, without leaving overly sweet aftertastes or a heavy, milky texture.

This drink is especially suited for cutting phases or as a way to close out your daily protein target, since it’s built around allulose (a sweetener) and contains no added sugar or complex carbs.

Ingredients (for one serving)

  • 1 scoop neutral protein powder
  • Juice of 1 whole lime (or half a large lemon)
  • 10-12 fresh mint leaves (leaves only, no stems)
  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • 0.5 cup very cold water
  • 1 to 2 tbsp allulose powder (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Pour the cold water and the freshly squeezed lime (or lemon) juice into the blender jug.
  2. Add the fresh mint leaves, the scoop of neutral protein powder, and the allulose powder.
  3. Add the ice cubes on top of the other ingredients.
  4. Run the blender in short pulses at first to break up the ice, then blend at high speed for about 30 seconds until you get a smooth, cool, light texture.

Finished mojito protein shake in a glass

  1. Taste the shake before pouring – if needed, add another half tablespoon of allulose to balance the tartness.
  2. Pour into a tall glass, garnish with a fresh lime wedge, and drink immediately!

Tips to Upgrade the Shake

  • Classic mojito fizz effect: Protein powder and carbonated drinks in a closed blender can build up a lot of pressure and foam. To get that sparkling soda effect, we recommend blending the shake with just a quarter cup of water to get a thick concentrate, pouring it into a glass up to 3/4 full, then topping the remaining 1/4 with very cold soda water and gently stirring with a straw.
  • Upgrade to a velvety texture: If you’d like a slightly richer texture, you can replace the cold water with natural coconut water. This upgrade adds about twenty calories per serving but gives the shake an amazing tropical twist.
